2010 (Freshman): Earned a fourth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run at the Jack Christiansen Invite (May 8) with a time of 20:13.82.
High School: Katie earned four letters in cross country and three in track while attending Highlands Ranch High School in Highlands Ranch, Colo. She was the captain of the cross country team in 2008 and was a recipient of the scholar-athlete award.
Personal: Katie was born July 19, 1991, to Lisa and Mitch Peterson in Aurora, Colo. She has an older brother, Ryan, who runs cross country and track at Kansas. She is majoring in health and exercise science.
