Joey Guarascio is in his first season as head strength & conditioning coach at CSU in 2019 and second season overall. He was promoted from associate to head strength & conditioning coach in February of 2019.
 
Guarascio was previously the associate head strength & condition coach at Ole Miss. He helped lead the football team to a pair of New Year’s Six bowls during his tenure, including the 2014 Peach Bowl and the 2016 Sugar Bowl. He was also in charge of the Rebels’ pro day and NFL combine preparation programs.
 
Prior to his stint at Ole Miss, Guarascio was the director of strength & conditioning at Northwestern State. He oversaw all 17 varsity sports and specifically handled football, men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball.
 
Guarascio began his career as a graduate assistant at NSU and then was an intern at both Florida Atlantic and LSU.
 
He is a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach for USA Weightlifting and is a certified the National Strength Coaches Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the distinction of Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC).

He graduated from Sioux Falls with an exercise science degree and from Northwestern State University with a master's degree in Human Health Performance with an emphasis in sports management.
 
He and his wife, Heather, were married June 23, 2012. They have a son, James, and a daughter, Sophia.
