Ray Jackson continues to be regarded as one of the greatest defensive backs in CSU history and is the fourth member of coach Earle Bruce’s 1991 recruiting class to enter the CSU Hall of Fame. Jackson, a 1991 graduate of Denver’s Montbello High School, graduated as the Rams’ all-time leader for career interceptions at 20 and still established the school record for the longest interception for a touchdown at 100 yards against UTEP in 1993. Jackson joined Greg Myers in the Rams’ backfield to create a potent duo which helped lead CSU to the school’s first-ever WAC championships in 1994 and 1995. When he finished his amazing career at CSU, Jackson ranked among the all-time interceptions leaders in the WAC and set the school record for most interception return yards.

Jackson was chosen in the fifth round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills and spent six seasons playing for Buffalo and the Cleveland Browns. Jackson recorded six interceptions for 79 yards during his NFL career. He later went on to work for the Pittsburgh Steelers for a decade before coming to the Denver Broncos in 2015 as director of player development.
