Multi-Events Conclude At Mountain West

Colorado State junior Zuzana Krajciova finished the heptathlon at the Mountain West Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship with 4,423 points, while senior Matt Webber placed seventh in the decathlon with 6,238 points.

Krajciova finished seventh in the long jump with a season-best jump of 17-4.75 and then threw 80-6 in the javelin to place sixth. In the final event, the 800 meters, she ran a 2:22.70 to finish fourth.

Webber finished in the top six in all five events in the second day to improve from 10th place to seventh. In the 110 meter hurdles, Webber placed fifth with a time of 15.70 for a season-best run and then he unleashed a throw of 120-9 in the discus to finish second and establish a new career high. In the pole vault, Webber cleared 12-9.5 to tie for fifth place and then he threw 153-9 in the javelin for fourth place and another season-high. In the 10th and final event, Webber ran a 5:24.34 in the 1500 meters to finish sixth and end the competition with 6238 points.

The rest of the track and field teams will begin competition tomorrow at the University of New Mexico for the 2003 Championship. At last season's championship, both teams finished second.
