Colorado State junior Lynette Duran fired a two-under-par 70 in the final round to lead the Ram women?s golf team into a second-place tie at the Bronco Fall Invite at Falcon Crest Golf Club in Kuna, Idaho. The Rams finished the 18-team tournament with a 903.
Duran, a native of Lakewood, Colo., finished the tournament with a four-over-par 220, good for a seventh place tie in the individual standings. Senior Trisha Quick finished her tournament with a final-round 73 to card a 225 and finish in 13th place for the event.
Freshman Chelsea Benton recorded a 228 while Kristen Campos and Margaret Garehime had a 231 and 236, respectively, to round out the Rams? scoring.
?Today was good,? commented head coach Angie Hopkins. ?We held it together well in the wind and the girls did well as a group. We needed a good outing from some of our players and Lynette and Trisha really stepped up.?
The team will be in action again on Nov. 1 when they play in the Las Vegas Founders Collegiate Tournament.
