Kirchem, Zhurin Fall in ITA Regionals

CSU sophomore Emily Kirchem and senior Dasha Zhurin were defeated in singles action of the Women's Wilson/ITA Region V Championships on Friday.
Kirchem, who received a bye in the round of 32 consolation bracket, was knocked off by Liz Ferris of Utah 6-2, 7-6 (4) in the round of 16.
Zhurin, who won her first match in the Main Draw on Thursday, was defeated by Kansas State's Maria Rosenberg 6-1, 6-2.
Play continues on Saturday with the tournament coming to a close on Sunday.
