Ram Golf in Ninth After Round One of The Nelson

The Colorado State men?s golf team completed the first round of The Nelson golf tournament with a 13-over 289, good for ninth place at the Stanford Golf Club in Stanford, Calif. on Friday.
CSU?s Aaron Weston and Derrick Whiting each fired a two-over 71 ranking in a tie for 21st place individually while Kevin McAlpine chipped in a four-over 73 to sit in 42nd after the first day. John Hayes, with a five-over 74 and Nate Pettitt, with a six-over 75 completed their first rounds in ties for 51st and 61st place, respectively.
New Mexico?s Spencer Levin is the individual leader with a four-under 65 while Georgia State carded a team score of 275 to finish as the first-round leader.
Play continues on Saturday with a round of 18 holes and concludes with the final round on Sunday.
