Back To The Academy: The Colorado State indoor track & field teams return to the Air Force Academy on Saturday for the Air Force Quadrangular. Events are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. and teams competing will be Air Force, Arizona, Colorado and Colorado State.
School Record: Freshman Magnus Lohse, in just his second collegiate event, broke the school record and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in the shot put with his winning throw of 63-2. Lohse breaks the old record of 60-2 held by Brian Trainor from 2001 and he currently ranks fifth in the nation among Division I student-athletes. Lohse?s winning toss is also the third best throw ever recorded in the Mountain West Conference and earned him Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Male Athlete of the Week.
Victorious Again: Both the Colorado State men?s and women?s track and field teams were victorious at the 2004 Robert Shine Invitational in Laramie, Wyoming. The men?s team scored 112 points to defeat Air Force (85) and Wyoming (58) while the women tallied 121 to defeat rivals Wyoming (101) and Air Force (67).
