Martin Ties For Second At MWC Championship

The Colorado State men?s golf team finished fifth at the Mountain West Conference Championship after combining for a 292 in the third and final round. The Rams end the championship at 12-over par after shooting an 876 (289-295-292).
Colorado State seniors Nolan Martin and Martin Laird finished the championship tied for second and fourth, respectively. Martin shot a three-day total of 209 for seven-under par, while Laird was five-under par after totaling 211.
Nate Pettitt tied for 20th and nine-over par after ending today with a 71. Jim Kurtenbach was five-over on the day and shot a 232 for the tournament to end in 32nd place. Kevin McAlpine rebounded with an 81 today after being disqualified yesterday.
The Rams will now await news of a bid to the NCAA Regional Tournament. The Regionals will be held May 20-22 and the West Regional will be in Sunriver at the Crosswater Club at Sunriver Resort -- the site of the Mountain West Championship.
