Track and Field qualifies three for nationals

The men's and women's indoor track team headed up to Wyoming with one goal in mind, get qualified for nationals. Three Rams, junior Janay DeLoach, junior. Trey Eder, and senior Jill McCormick succeed hitting provisionally qualifying marks.

Janay DeLoach qualified in the long jump with a mark of 6.10 meters and in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.84. Deloach also broke the 55-meter field house record by .02 seconds. Deena Burrows form UCLA set the old record in 1993.

Trey Eder qualified in the 35-pound weight throw with a mark of 62'11-1/2". He also placed second behind fellow Ram Matt McKinney in the shot put with a mark of 55'.

Jill McCormick qualified in the 20-pound weight throw with a mark of 63' 2-3/4". She also won the shot put with a mark of 45' 11-3/4". All three qualifiers will be added to the NCAA national list.

The Rams will look to continue their success on January 21, 2006, at the New Mexico Invitational.
