Loree Smith Earns All-American Honors

Colorado State senior thrower Loree Smith earned All-American honors today at the 2005 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship at the University of Arkansas.

Smith placed eighth in the shot put with a throw of 53-7.75, while Miami senior Kimberli Barrett won the event with a toss of 59-4.75. Smith earns her fourth All-American award and will compete in the weight throw tomorrow, where she set the American Collegiate record earlier this season.

Senior John Woods failed to qualify for finals in the 60 meters, running a 6.72 to finish 11th. Senior Adam Trainor also finished 11th, throwing 65-3.25 in the weight throw.

Smith and sophomore Magnus Lohse will compete tomorrow in the final day of the NCAA Championship, with Smith throwing the weight and Lohse putting the shot.
