Lloyd and Johnson Finish Second In California Multis

Sophomore Katie Lloyd finished second at the California Heptathlon, while sophomore Kevin Johnson finished second in the decathlon today on the campus of Azusa Pacific.
Lloyd finished with an NCAA provisional qualifying total of 5,130 points, totaling a career-best and her total is just 30 points shy of the school record. She started the second day with a jump of 19-0 in the long jump, then threw 109-8 in the javelin and closed the day with a 2:29.46.
Johnson posted a personal best total of 6,749 and recorded personal bests in all five events on the day on his way to the seventh best decathlon total in school history. He began the day with a 15.46 in the 110 hurdles, then threw 128-11 in the discus, cleared 13-11.25 in the pole vault, threw 153-4 in the javelin and ran a 5:09.47 in the 1500 meters.
Freshman Emily Pearson also posted a career-best total, finishing fourth overall with 4,766 points in the heptathlon. She jumped 16-1 in the long jump to start the day, then threw 114-10 in the javelin and finished with a 2:27.02 in the 800 meters.
Colorado State will compete in both the Mt. SAC Relays and Sun Angel Classic over the weekend. Complete Results
