The National Golf Coaches Association Division I All-American Scholar Team was announced today. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year. Two golfers from Colorado State were named to the All-American Scholar Team. Kristen Campos and Megan Chapman were among the 199 women's collegiate golfers to be recognized with this prestigious honor.

Kristien Campos, who hails from Mesa, Ariz., graduated from Colorado State in 2005 with a degree in marketing. As a senior, Campos claimed all-Mountain West honors after shooting a seven-over-par 220 in the MWC Championship tournament, placing third in the event. Campos earned three top ten finishes in her final year at CSU with a 78.89 stroke average. She became CSU's ninth all-conference selection in the history of the program and the first to be selected since 2002. Campos was also named to the All-American Scholar Team in 2002 and 2004.

Megan Chapman, a natural resources major from Thornburg, Ontario, played in four tournaments during her sophomore year and will be back as one of two returners to help the Rams compete during the 2005-06 season.

Campos and Chapman are two of nine women's golfers from Colorado State to be named to the All-American Scholar Team in the history of the program.

The Rams will kick off their fall season with the Ptarmingan Ram Fall Classic at the Ptarmigan Golf Club in Fort Collins, Colo., on September 12-13.
