Women's Golf Team finishes 14th in Tournament

The Colorado State women's golf team wrapped up the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational today, playing the third and final round of the tournament at the UNM Championship course in Albuquerque, N.M. The team finished in 14th place with a combined score of 918. The Pepperdine Waves won the tournament with a score of 873, and Texas A&M was a close second with 875.
Chelsea Benton was the top finisher for the Rams. Her score of 222 placed her in a tie for 21st place. Next on the leaderboard for CSU were Amber Ward and Megan Chapman. Ward finished the tournament tied for 59th place with a three-round total score of 231. Chapman finished close behind with a 232 and a tie for 62nd place. Krystina Gillenwater ended the tournament with a total score of 239 which place her in a tie for 83rd place. Stefanie Ferguson shot her best round of the tournament today, a 75, and finished in 93rd place with a total score of 243.
"Chelsea played really well today." commented head coach Angie Hopkins. "The tournament was a good learning experience for the whole team."
