Women's Golf Places 10th at Give Em Five Intercollegiate

Las Cruces, N.M. - The Colorado State women's golf team concluded the New Mexico State University/Price's "Give Em Five" Intercollegiate in 10th place after posting a 308 in the final round of the tournament Wednesday. The Rams had rounds of 311, 304 and 308 for a 923 three-round total in the event.

Freshman Kasey Claussen finished tied for 17th in the tournament with rounds of 79, 72 and 75 for a three-round score of 226, her best tournament of her collegiate career and her first top 20 finish as a Ram. Claussen's 17th place finish marks the fourth-best individual finish by a CSU player this season.

Junior Chelsea Benton shot rounds of 73, 80 and 74 to complete play in a tie for 19th with a 227. It marks Benton's second top 20 finish of the season.

Megan Chapman completed play tied for 42nd (79-75-79=233) while Natalie Stone was tied for 62nd (80-77-80=237). Amber Ward rounded out the Ram scoring in 76th (83-80-80=243).

Host school New Mexico State won the tournament title with rounds of 304, 292 and 294 for a three-round score of 890. NMSU also boasted the individual medalist with Lehua Wise shooting a 72-72-70=214.

Colorado State will round out the fall portion of its schedule Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at the Las Vegas Founders Collegiate.
