CSU Women Finish 13th in Las Vegas

Henderson, Nev. - The Colorado State women's golf team claimed a 13th-place finish at the Las Vegas Founders Collegiate Showdown after recording a three-round total of 900 (+36) with a final-round 300 on Wednesday.
Junior Megan Chapman led the Rams with a three-round total of 222 (+6) after posting an even-par 72 on Wednesday. Chapman finished in a tie for 27th individually in the tournament.
Chelsea Benton and Kasey Claussen each finished at seven-over-par (223) for the tournament. Benton had a one-over 73 in the third round while Claussen registered a 75. Amber Ward came in tied for 77th with a 236 and Natalie Stone rounded out the Ram scoring with a 237.
Oklahoma State claimed the top team honors with a 292-280-283=855 (-9) while Texas A&M's Ashley Knoll had a seven-under 209 to take home medalist honors.
CSU's 900 marked the team's second best tournament of the year in terms of strokes, only shooting better in the Ptarmigan/Ram Fall Classic in September with an 894.
The Rams have concluded their fall season and will resume action on Feb. 26-27 when they play in the Campbell Spring Classic in Buies Creek, N.C.
