Women's Tennis loses on the Road

The Colorado State women's tennis team lost to New Mexico State, 5-2, today in Las Cruces, N.M. The Rams are now 2-4 on the season.
The Rams won the doubles point for the second time in a row. Emily Kirchem and Anne Andersen defeated Isabelle Mignot and Edine van Beusekom at No. 1, 9-8. Jessica Jones and Jasmin Singh defeated Violiane Rollet and Paula Zuniga at No. 3, 8-5, to claim the doubles point.
Andersen scored the Rams other point by beating Edine van Beusekom 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Kirchem fell to Isabelle Mignot at No. 1 in a close three-set match, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. Jones also lost in three to Celine du Fosse at No. 5, 7-6, 4-6, 6-1.
"For our first trip outside, I thought we played very well overall," said coach Jon Messick.
Colorado State travels to Colorado Springs, Colo. nest weekend to face No. 9 Abilene Christian and No. 61 Texas Tech.
