Rams Conclude Play at UNLV Spring Invitational

Boulder City, Nev. - The Colorado State women's golf team took 18th at the UNLV Spring Invitational with a final-round 322 Wednesday afternoon. CSU completed play with a three-round total of 947 (+34) at the 6,153-yard par 72 Boulder Creek Golf Club.
Sophomore Chelsea Benton finished tied for 28th place to lead the Rams with a 75-73-79=227 (+11) on the tournament. CSU's Amber Ward shot rounds of 79-75-78=232 (+16) to finish 46th while Megan Chapman came in 63rd with a 80-77-79=236 (+20). Stefanie Ferguson rounded out Colorado State's scoring with a 83-83-86=252 (+36) to place 91st.
UNLV claimed team honors with a 15-over 879 beating fellow Mountain West foe, BYU by three strokes. Indiana's Shannon Johnson won individual honors shooting a three-round score of 211 (-5) including a third round score of 68 on Wednesday.
CSU will be in action again on March 25-26 at the MountainView Collegieate in Tucson, Ariz.
