Strong Second Half Powers No. 13 UCSD Over Rams

La Jolla, Calif. - The 13th-ranked UC San Diego Tritons used a strong second-half performance to defeat Colorado State 9-2 in Western Water Polo Association action Thursday evening.
Colorado State (12-10) and UCSD battled to a 1-1 tie after one half of play before the Tritons scored four goals in the first five minutes of the second half to take control of the game and hold off the Rams 9-2.
CSU received one goal each from Annie Quinn and Laurien White in the game. Michelle Perkins led UCSD with four goals in the game.
"We played a very tough game against a ranked opponent", commented CSU head coach John Mattos. "It was a very solid performance by our kids."
The Rams will continue their California tour this weekend with four games in the Claremont Colleges Tournamnet Saturday and Sunday.
