Colorado State sophomore Emily Pearson won the Glenn Morris Heptathlon by seven points over teammate Katie Lloyd, 4867-4860 this afternoon at the Jack Christiansen track on the campus of Colorado State. Chadron State's Beau Wendling won the decathlon.
Pearson led the competition after day one, then Lloyd took the lead after the long jump and held a slight advantage after the javelin, but Pearson took the lead with her second place finish in the 800 meters.
Pearson leapt 16-8.25, threw the javelin 122-8 and ended the day by running a 2:35.1 in the 800 meters.
