Fort Collins, Colo. - Colorado State head women's golf coach Angie Hopkins has announced that two players have signed National Letters of Intent to play at Colorado State beginning in the 2006-07 school year. Jenny Pease of Braintree, England and Kasey Claussen of Fort Collins, Colo., will join the Rams in the upcoming season.
Pease was the junior golfer of the year twice and holds the Braintree Golf Club course record of one-under 71. She won a club championship and was named to the Essex County elite squad. Pease also played field hockey for four years guiding her team to the national finals.
Claussen, a senior at Fort Collins High School, was a conference champion and placed fifth in the Colorado State Golf Tournament in 2006. She earned three letters in golf and two in softball during her time as a Lambkin. She was a three-time recipient of the Parent Athletic Club Award and a two-time all-conference honoree. She was the Fort Collins Junior City Champion in 2004 and an Optimist International Club Medalist in 2005. She was presented with the Honor Ahtlete Award four times and won the Remax Long Drivers of America contest in 2005.
"They will both be a great addition to our program", commented Hopkins. "Jenny is the older of the two and will come in and be a great addition to our upper classmen. Kasey knows what Colorado State is about and is very excited to be a Ram and we are excited to have her. Both are great golfers and will be great student-athletes for CSU."
