Johnson In Fifth After Day One

Colorado State senior Kevin Johnson currently sits in fifth place at the Roger Cox Heptathlon after day one of competition with 2,962 points. Texas' Donovan Kilmartin leads the two-day, six-event competition with 3,272 points.
Johnson started the day running a personal best time of 7.10 in the 60 meters, which also ranks 19th on the CSU top 20 chart for best times. He then finished third in the long jump with a leap of 22-11.25, then threw 38-6 in the shot put and rounded out the day by clearing 6-2.75 in the high jump.
Tomorrow, Johnson will finish the heptathlon with the 60 meter hurdles, pole vault and 1000 meters, while senior Katie Lloyd and juniors Tonya Cure and Emily Pearson will compete in the Roger Cox Pentathlon.
