Ferguson leads Rams to fourth place tie

BROOMFIELD, Colo. -Â The Colorado State women's golf team finished fourth at the University of Colorado Heather Farr Memorial Invitational behind a third-place finish by junior Stefanie Ferguson.
Ferguson carded a final-round 73 (+3) and finished the tournament 3-over-par after hitting 78 percent of her greens in regulation . Her third-place finish also marked the best of her career. Each of the Rams' golfers hit better than 76 percent of the fairways for the tournament.
Sophomore Natalie Stone finished the tournament at 4-over-par in a tie for 20th place while sophomore Kasey Claussen finished 5-over-par for the tournament in a tie for 34th. Freshmen Kayley Kempton and Cecilia Edlund finished tied for 37th and 72nd, respectively. Kempton carded a final-round total of 82 to finish the tournament at 14-over-par. Edlund closed the tournament 24-over-par.
The fourth-place finish marked the highest for the Rams since the Rams took home fourth place in the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic to open the 2006-07 season.
The team will be back in action, Oct. 8-9, at the Jeannie McHaney Invitational in Lubbock, Texas.
