RENO, Nev. - Colorado State remained winless on the road, despite a valiant second half effort and a career night for Andre McFarland, falling 74-66 Wednesday night to the University of Nevada in Reno. The final difference came from the line as the Wolfpack shot three-times more foul shots, 18-of-23.

"Most times on the floor we have true freshman," said Head Coach Tim Miles. "Andre came out and played well. Jesse had his best game since Alaska; those young guys came out and did things when we needed them to. They are growing up, most times 85-90 % we have 4 freshmen on the floor, those young guys are finding their way. It is a consistency factor that is the unknown- tonight Andre really stepped up.

McFarland had a barrage of career-highs as he scored 17 points, was 4-6 from beyond the arc for highs in three-pointer and three-point attempts and two blocked shots. Jesse Woodard showed his hustle on the floor with a career-high nine points, two assists, a steal and several deflections that wreaked havoc on the outside shooting of the Wolfpack.

For the Rams the highlight came from beyond the arc with a season high 11 threes for the team and career highs in made threes for McFarland (4) and Willis Gardner (5). Gardner led the team with 19 points and had four makes from beyond the arc for a career-high. Ronnie Aguilar led the team with nine rebounds.

Despite the loss, Miles took several positives from the game as the team returns home for four games. "As coaches, we have always lamented about not having a fourth scorer, tonight Andre stepped up and we got that. We are not going to let the scoreboard get us down. That will not define us, intensity and hustle will. We have to go back and look at how come we had six offensive fouls, then we improve from there. You have to use this kind of thing as a teachable moment."

The Rams return to Moby Arena to defend their 24-game home non-conference win streak against in-state rival Colorado Saturday at 7 p.m. The first 200 students will receive free pizza and soda.
