Fort Collins, Colo. - The Colorado State University indoor track and field team will open the season Saturday with the Wyoming Open and the Kansas State Multi.
"We are definitely going to see where some of the younger athletes are," said Head Coach Brian Bedard. "This could be a wakeup call, either they will feel good or know they need to get to work. Our freshmen will have the opportunity to compete. We have been training through this meet and haven't rested anyone."
Traveling to Kansas for the multi event will be Emily Pearson and Kristen Kugler. Pearson qualified for the 2006 NCAA Regional in the javelin last season. Both will compete in the heptathlon. The Wyoming Open will focus on the sprinters and field events.
The meet will begin at noon in Laramie, Wyo.
