CSU Tennis Falls to #73 New Mexico, 7-0

The Colorado State women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to the Lobos of New Mexico Thursday. The Rams move to 7-10 (1-6 MWC) on the season.
In doubles, the Rams were only able to take a victory at the No. 1 position. At No. 1, Kirchem/Tyler defeated Zmak/Scott, 8-5, for their 18th overall win of the season, and their sixth in a row. At No. 2 doubles, Pohjalainen/Strasburger fell to Abou-Zekry/Ryba, 8-2; the pair moves to 2-1 overall. At No. 3, Satherlie/Stople were defeated by Quintal/Sotirchos, 8-1.
In singles play, the Rams failed to pick up a point. At No. 1 singles, Emily Kirchem lost to Ola Abou-Zekry, 6-1, 6-3, and falls to 13-11 on the year. At No. 2, Lauren Strasburger was beaten by Sandra Zmak, 6-2, 6-1. At No. 3 singles, Hilary Tyler fell to Mackenzie White, 7-6, 6-3; Tyler remains the team leader in singles victories with 15. At the No. 4 position, Anette Pohjalainen lost a hard fought match to Nora Quintal, 6-2, 3-6, 10-6. At No. 5 singles, Greer Satherlie moved to 9-11 on the year with her loss to Lucy Scott, 6-2, 6-2. At the No. 6 position, Kirsten Stople fell to Jennifer Ryba, 6-2, 6-3.
The Rams return to the court Friday when they take on TCU in Albuquerque, N.M., at 10am MST.
