Sarah Anast Signs With CSU Women's Golf Team

Colorado State women's golf coach Angie Hopkins announced today that Sarah Anast of Los Alamos, N.M., has signed a National Letter of Intent to play with the Rams beginning in the 2007-08 season.
Anast will graduate from Los Alamos High School this spring. She is currently a two-time district champion, a three-time all-district honoree and has garnered all-state honors twice. Anast was a third-place finisher in the New Mexico State Tournament as a junior and has won four tournaments in her fall season in 2006. This past summer she competed in the Junior World Golf Championships in San Diego and placed fifth in the National Callaway Tournament at the Santa Anna Golf Course with a two-round total of 153. Sarah has also maintained a 3.9 grade-point average and has been a captain of her team twice.
"Sarah has proven herself in the classroom as well as out on the golf course," commented Hopkins. "She is a hard worker with a never quit attitude. She is focused and driven to be the best."
The CSU women's golf team will compete in the 2007 Mountain West Conference Championships beginning on Thursday, April 19. The tournmanet will be held in St. George, Utah at the Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club. --
