Rams Finish Fifth at MWC Championships

St. George, Utah - The Colorado State women's golf team fell one spot to claim fifth-place in the 2007 Mountain West Conference Championships at Entrada at Snow Canyon in St. George, Utah Saturday. The Rams carded a three round score of 949 and finished just one stroke behind fourth-place UNLV.
CSU senior Megan Chapman fired a final-round 76 en route to an 11th place finish with rounds of 78-78-76 to finish with a three-round score of 232. Stefanie Ferguson, who was in the top 10 coming into the final round came in tied for 21st with rounds of 76, 77 and 87, good for a 240 in the event.
Natalie Stone and Amber Ward tied for 24th place, each shooting three-round totals of 241 following final round scores of 82 on Saturday. Freshman Kasey Claussen rounded out Ram scoring in 31st with a 249 in the tournament.
TCU claimed team honors edging BYU by one stroke, 903 to 904. New Mexico's Jodi Ewart held top individual honors with a seven-over 220. She edged TCU's Valentine Derrey by one stroke.
