CSU women's golf 12th heading into final round

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Colorado State women’s golf team slipped two spots on the team leaderboard during the second round of action at the Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Invitational at the New Mexico State University Golf Course. The Rams carded a team score of 314 (+26) during Tuesday’s second round.
Junior Kasey Claussen held steady as the top competitor for the Rams, shaving a stroke off of her opening-round score to move into a tie for sixth place heading into Wednesday’s final round.
Freshman Melissa Martin sits eight strokes off the pace of Claussen after firing a 79 on Tuesday. Junior Natalie Stone and senior Stefanie Ferguson rounded out the scoring for the Rams in the second round. Stone, shot an 80 and is tied 71st overall, while Ferguson shot an 81 and sits in a tie for 51st.
Sophomore Cecilia Edlund slipped after firing an opening-round 78. Edlund carded an 87 on Wednesday and is tied for 82nd overall.
UC Irvine sits atop the team leaderboard with a two-round total of 595, followed by Oklahoma (598), Baylor (601), Oral Roberts (608), and host New Mexico State (611) to round out the top five.
Colorado State sits just two strokes out of the top 10 and will look to move back into that group during Wednesday’s final round, which begins with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m.
