FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State women’s golf Head Coach Angie Hopkins announced Wednesday the signing of Emily Roering to a National Letter of Intent.

“We are very pleased to add Emily to our roster for next year,” said Hopkins. “Emily is a multi-sport athlete with the determination and work ethic to be a highly competitive player. She has a natural golf swing and definitely has the distance to compete at the collegiate level.”

Roering, from Glenwood, Minn., is a standout at Minnewaska Area High School, where she has earned three consecutive all-conference and all-state nods, and has been ranked in the top three in the state of Minnesota for the past two seasons. She has helped Mennewaska to three consecutive state titles, finishing third individually last season. A member of the High Honor Roll, Roering carries a 75 stroke average and has taken four strokes off her average in the last three seasons.

Last year she posted impressive performances, including a third-place finish in the Junior PGA Player’s Tour. She also played in the Minnesota Manitoba Cup, tied for first at the MGA Junior Girl’s competition and finished in the top 15 and top 20 at the Minnesota State Open and the Minnesota State Amateur, respectively.

“Living in Minnesota, Emily is somewhat limited in how often she can play,” added Hopkins. “I’m excited to see what she is capable of when training year-round at the Harmony Facility.”
