Feb. 16, 2008 - Over 1,300 athletes from across the country met Saturday at the Husky Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington. Several of the Rams' indoor track and field team's middle runners and distance runners hit personal bests and broke a school record.

Junior Kristen Hemphill set a record in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:30.34, and earned an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. Senior Emily Pearson set the top time in the conference in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.56, earning fifth place.

"We got what we wanted to get done at this meet," said Head Coach Brian Bedard. "Many lifetime bests and seasonal bests were made and it set us up well for the Mountain West Conference meet."

CSU also competed at the Mines Invite Saturday, in Golden, Colo., where athletes did well across the board.

The Rams next meet is the Mountain West Conference Championships, Feb. 28-March 1, hosted by the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
