Rams finish 10th at Kitahara Fresno State Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. -- The Colorado State women's golf team finished the first tournament of the spring season, the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational, on Tuesday posting a Top 10 finish at the Copper River Country Club in Fresno, Calif. The Rams shot rounds of 310 and 311 to finish 10th.
Junior Stefanie Ferguson concluded the two-round invitational at 5-over-par, finishing in a tie for 13th. She recored a second-round score of 74 (2-over-par) for a two-round total of 149. Sophomore Kasey Claussen moved up four spots with her second-round performance of 3-over-par 75.
"Stefanie and Kasey really stepped up and played well for us in this tournament," said Head Coach Angie Hopkins. "I thought the conditions today were ideal and both girls posted solid rounds."
Freshman Kayley Kempton finished at 11-over-par and tied for 41th, while sophomore Natalie Stone and freshman Cecilia Edlund tied for 79th with totals of 166 (+22).
The Rams return to action Monday at the Spartan Invitational in San Jose, Calif. The event will be hosted by San Jose State University.
