BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The Colorado State women's golf team shot a final-round team score of 303 on Wednesday to finish 13th at the UNLV Spring Invitational at the Boulder Creek Golf Club. Sophomore Kasey Claussen led the Rams finishing a tie for 35th at 6-over-par.
Claussen, who hit 78 percent of her greens in regulation, carded a two-over-par 74 in the third round of action and carded a 222 for the tournament. Sophomore Natalie Stone matched Claussen's 74 for Round 3 and finished four strokes behind Claussen in a tie for 46th place.
Junior Stefanie Ferguson, the Rams' leader in stroke average, battled through an ankle injury on Wednesday to finish the final 18 holes in a tie for 42nd with a three-round 224 (+8).
Freshmen Kayley Kempton and Cecilia Edlund finished tied for 66th and tied for 88th, respectively. Kempton carded a final-round score of 75 to finish with a 13-over-par 229.
Next up, the Rams return to the links March 29-30 at the Mountain View Invitational in Tucson, Ariz.
