Next on the Tee...
The Colorado State women’s golf team opens up a strong fall schedule when the Rams host the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic Monday and Tuesday at the Ptramigan Country Club.  Nineteen Division I women’s collegiate golf teams will compete in this year’s event.

The Ptarmigan Country Club is a 6,207-yard, par-72 course. The 54-hole tournament will begin with two rounds on Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., and the final round will take place Tuesday morning at 8:30.

Conference foes BYU and Wyoming, as well as in-state rivals Northern Colorado and CU make up the 19-team field, along with 2008 team champion California.

The Rams golfers set to compete in the tournament are Kasey Claussen, Stefanie Ferguson, Melissa Martin, Brianna Espinoza and Cecilia Edlund.

Rams at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic...
Last season the Rams surged in the final round, improving 11 strokes, to capture a Top 5 finish.  Colorado State has captured the team title twice (2001 and 2004) in the last seven Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classics.  Mayumi Motoyama was the last Rams golfer to win the tournament, doing so in 2001.

Picking up where they left off...
Colorado State women’s golf hopes to begin the 2008-09 season the way that it closed 2007-08.  In the final tournament of the season heading into the 2008 MWC championships, the Rams posted their top finish of the year, a third-place finish at the BYU Dixie Classic.  Cecilia Edlund, Stefanie Ferguson and Kasey Claussen each finished in the Top 10, and return to the Rams lineup eager to show what they are capable of on the course.
