FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State track and field program announced Wednesday the signing of Kelby Dias to a National Letter of Intent. Dias is an outstanding track and field athlete, and will add great depth to the CSU track and field team.
Dias is from Sierra High School in Colorado Springs, Colo., where he participated in many sports, including football, basketball and track and field. Dias was a three-year letterwinner in track and field, and received an exceptional amount of seven 4A state championships. Dias excels in the hurdles and sprints, and will be a great attribute to the sprint team at CSU.
Dias has received many prestigious awards throughout the duration of high school, including first-team all-conference honors three years in a row from 2005-07, Athlete of the Week from the Colorado Springs Gazette in 2006, and Sprinter-Hurdler of the Year from the Rocky Mountain News in 2008. Dias also holds the eighth-fastest time in the history of Colorado in the 300-meter hurdles.
Dias hopes to finish out his high school track and field career this spring with more great accomplishments, and to help prepare him for his upcoming experience at CSU.
