DENVER, Colo. – Following a tremendous regular season in the Mountain West Conference, two current Rams golfers and a recent CSU graduate have made the cut into the final round of the Pro Women’s Golf Tournament.
Through two rounds at the Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in Denver, sophomore Melissa Martin, senior Kasey Claussen and recently graduated senior Stefanie Ferguson have all posted high marks. Martin is tied for 15th place (+6) through the ninth hole.
Although a pro tour, all players are competing as amateurs.
“It’s a pro women’s golf tournament and to have two Rams and one former Ram make the cut is a big honor,” said Head Coach Angie Hopkins. “To beat some nationally ranked players and for those girls to play through into the final round and make it says a lot about them and our program.”
Claussen finished the season as CSU’s most valuable player, as well as leading the Rams with a 75.14 stroke average. Through 12 holes she is tied for 18th (+8).
Ferguson, a former academic all-American and academic all-conference player, is in 35th place (+16).
The tournament will finish Friday.
