The Colorado State women's golf team will compete in its second tournament of the season on Saturday and Sunday at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational. The event is hosted by the University of New Mexico and will take place at the UNM Championship Course in Albuquerque, N.M.
The par-73 UNM Championship Course spans 6,167 yards. The 54-hole tournament will begin with two rounds on Saturday with a shotgun start at 8 a.m., and the final round will take place Sunday with a shotgun start at 7 a.m.
The field, which consists of 18 teams, includes conference foes TCU, New Mexico, UNLV and Wyoming, as well as in-state rival CU. Other teams competing include Arkansas, UC Davis, UC Irvine, Indiana, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pepperdine, San Diego State, San Francisco, Texas A&M, and UTEP.
The Rams tournament golf team lineup is Kasey Claussen, Natalie Stone, Melissa Martin, Brianna Espinoza and Emily Roering. Cecilie Krefting will compete as an individual.

Last year at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, CSU captured their first top-five finish
of the 2008-09 season. Then freshman Melissa Martin had the top Ram finish tied for 14th with a score of 222. Then junior Kasey Claussen was not far behind her in 25th place with a score of 226.

The Colorado State women's golf team set out to start the season strongly and they did just that. They came in second place at the annual home tournament, breaking two school records in the process. During the first round of play, they scored 281 (-7), one stroke under the previous school record. The team had a final score of 863 (-1) setting a record for three-round tournament score, previously set at 869.
