Women's golf preview: Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown

The Rams are teeing off in Boulder City, Nev., on Monday at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. The tournament is hosted by UNLV, and will take place Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.  The Rams will compete for the last time of the fall season.

The par-72 Boulder Creek Golf Course spans across 6,233 yards. There will be 18 holes played per day beginning on Monday with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. MDT.

 

The field will consist of 17 teams including, Arizona, Arkansas, Kent State, Louisville, Minnesota, Washington, East Carolina, San Jose State, Washington State, Oregon, Idaho, Missouri, UC Irvine, conference foes San Diego State, and New Mexico, and hosting the tournament UNLV.

The Rams line-up is Emily Roering, Brianna Espinoza, Sarah Roering, Betsy Kelly, Cecilie Krefting and Christina Spinzig will compete as individual.

Rams at Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown

Last year at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown the Rams tied for 11th with a team total of 912 (+48). With winds of 35 miles-per-hour, the course proved to be difficult for all teams competing in the tournament.  CSU sophomore Melissa Martin led the way for the Rams fighting through the harsh weather finishing the tournament tied for 14th.

Heather Farr CU/Memorial

CSU worked hard scoring a team total of 909 (+45), and finishing the tournament in second place. Sophomore Emily Roering led the Rams finishing in second with a total of 221. Junior Brianna Espinoza tied for fourth with a total of 225.
