FORT COLLINS, Colo.--The Colorado State women's basketball team won 62-49 over the Colorado State-Pueblo Thunderwolves at Moby Arena Saturday night in its last exhibition game of the season.
Junior Meghan Heimstra recorded her second consecutive double-double of the exhibition season with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Kim Mestdagh scored 23 points for the Rams along with five steals and eight rebounds. She made four three-pointers and shot 50.0 percent from the floor.
The Rams were up by 16 points at halftime, outscoring the Thunderwolves 35-19. In the second half, the Thunderwolves outscored the Rams 30-27, but the Rams held on for the win.
"We just have to be more disciplined. I thought we really struggled inside," Head Coach Kristen Holt said. "We have got to be able to pull through; I just think we weren't tough enough."
Freshman LaDeyah Forte recorded five assists while playing 28 minutes.
"It wasn't much of an improvement," Holt said. "We have the desire to make it happen, but we just haven't done it."
Colorado State will begin its regular season on the road against Northern Iowa Friday.
