COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - In the Rams' second match of the weekend, Colorado State found itself facing its second loss of the season. The Rams fell 5-2 Saturday morning as they faced the Wofford Terriers in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The two wins in singles for CSU came from junior, Lauren Mulhern and freshman Kaley Schultz. Mulhern defeated her Wofford opponent in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. Schultz then grabbed the Rams' second win, blanking her Terrier opponent, 6-0, 6-0.

Veronika Wojakowska also made an attempt in the third frame after spliiting sets with her Wofford opponent, unfortunately her come back was too little too late as she eventually fell,3-6, 6-3, 10-5.

The sole doubles win came from Melissa Holzinger and Arneson. The pair came in at the No. 3 position and defeated their Wofford opponents 8-5.

Despite the Rams losing in the No. 1 and 2 positions, CSU maintained a competitive edge, leaving each of the two matches decided by two games. Schultz and Mulhern gave the Rams hope as the pair took their Wofford opponents to a tiebreaker, before losing 9-8.

"We are hoping to do better coming into our home match Sunday," said Assistant Coach Mallory Voelker. "I think the girls got some good experience in the last two days which will help us hopefully gain our second win this weekend."

After Saturdays match, the Rams now hold a 1-2 record for the spring season. CSU will return home Sunday at 9 a.m. to host the Montana Grizzlies in the Rams second home match of the season.

The dual match takes place indoors at Miramont Lifestyle Fitness, 901 Oakridge Dr. in south Fort Collins, behind Sam’s Club. Admission is free. Live stats can be found at CSURams.com.
