FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State women’s golf head coach Annie Young announced Wednesday that the Rams have signed Katrina Prendergast to a National Letter of Intent on the first day of the early signing period.

“Katrina is going to be a solid addition to our team,” Young said. “She is very athletic, playing basketball at Spanish Springs. On the course, she is a big hitter off the tee. We are excited to have her at Colorado State.”

Prendergast, a senior at Spanish Springs High School in Sparks, Nev., is a two-time state champion, team and individual, and a four-time regional champ, while competing in the highest classification. She also brings national experience to CSU, something Young has made a point of addressing while recruiting in her first two years in Fort Collins. Prendergast finished in a tie for 32nd-place at the 2014 Callaway Junior World Championship, carding a 72-hole total of 299 (+11) at Torrey Pines North Course in San Diego, Calif.

She is also a three-time qualifier for Junior Americas Cup (2012-14), and qualified this year or the U.S. Junior Girls Championship.
