FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Women’s tennis coach Jon Messick announced that the Rams have signed Emily Kolbow to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday afternoon, the first day of the early signing period.

“Emily is the type of player that brings a ton of intensity to every point,” Messick said. “She has really improved over the last couple years, especially this last summer. She has raised her game to a higher level, and she is someone that is on her way up, as opposed to players that have already peaked. She is a hard worker and she has a really good attitude.”

Kolbow, currently a senior at Arrowhead Union High School in Hartland, Wis., is a four-star recruit on tennisrecruiting.net. She has finished in the top 3 at the WIAA Division 1 Wisconsin state championships each year since 2012. Last month, Kolbow, who was the Warhawks No. 1 singles player, finished second at the state tournament, the highest finish by a women’s tennis player in Arrowhead Union history.

For her performance as a senior, Kolbow earned first-team all-area honors by the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel.
