  • No. 9 Colorado State improved to 26-2 on the year, and 14-1 in Mountain West play, with a four-set win over New Mexico Saturday afternoon (25-20, 18-25, 25-18, 25-19).
  • The Rams are now 49-23 all-time against the Lobos, including 34-3 under Head Coach Tom Hilbert.
  • At home, CSU is 26-8 against New Mexico, including a perfect 18-0 under Hilbert.
  • CSU improved to 12-1 at home on the year and is now 52-4 at Moby Arena since the start of the 2011 season, the fourth-best home winning percentage during that period.
  • The Rams have dropped just five sets in their 13 matches at Moby Arena, winning 33 of the 37 total sets. Prior to its loss in Set 2, CSU had won 18-straight sets on its home court.
  • As a team, the Rams limited the Lobos to just .139 hitting, and were especially effective against Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year Chantale Riddle. Riddle tallied just two blocks and eight kills on .120 hitting. The 2013 AVCA All-American came into the contest ranking in the top 50 nationally for kills, points and blocks.
  • Additionally, New Mexico’s Cassie House was held to 10 kills on .083 hitting. Combined, Riddle and House registered 18 kills and had 12 errors (.098).
  • In her second career start, freshman middle blocker Alexandra Poletto tallied 11 kills on .421 hitting and six blocks, falling one shy of her career high in both categories. In her two starts (also Sept. 5 vs. Florida A&M), Poletto has tallied 23 kills (3.29 per set) and nine blocks (1.29 per set) at a .601 clip.
  • Along with Poletto, junior right-side hitter Adrianna Culbert led the Rams with a season-high 13 kills and 14 digs, her seventh double-double of the season. Culbert has now reached double digits for kills in eight of her past 10 matches.
  • Junior defensive specialist Kaitlind Bestgen continued her season-long tear from the service line with two aces. Coming into the match, Bestgen led the MW in service aces during conference play (0.34).
  • Bestgen now has 33 aces in 93 sets this season. At 0.35 aces per set, she is on place for the third-highest single-season mark in CSU history.
  • During the second set, setter Deedra Foss picked up her 4,557th career assists, moving into fifth place in program history. The senior now holds 4,586 assists for her career, the most during the 25-point scoring era. Foss ranks seventh nationally, averaging 11.63 assists per set entering the week.
  • The Rams won the first set for the 20th-straight match and 26th time this season.
  • CSU out-dug New Mexico, 53-51. The Rams are 24-0 this season when out-digging their opponents.
  • The match featured just five ties and two lead changes over the four sets. CSU never trailed in the first or third sets, while New Mexico led start to finish in Set 2. The Lobos held a 10-7 lead in the fourth frame before four-straight points put the Rams on top, 11-10.
  • Following a 12-12 tie, CSU went on a 6-1 run to separate in Set 4. Of CSU's six points, two came on service aces while the other four were on New Mexico errors.
  • The Rams out-hit the Lobos, .355 to .033 in Set 3, receiving offensive production from six different players, including four kills from Culbert and four kills and four blocks from Poletto.
  • With three matches remaining, CSU owns a 2.5-match lead in the MW standings (second-place UNLV hosts San José State tonight). A Rebels loss would give CSU a share of the conference title for a sixth-consecutive season.
