- With the victory, CSU improved to 28-2 on the season, including 16-1 in Mountain West action. While the Rams clinched a share of the conference title on Wednesday, they won it outright with Saturday’s victory.
- The conference championship is CSU’s 20th in program history. The Rams won two HCAC titles, one WAC division championship, five of nine MW tournament crowns and 12 of 16 MW regular-season championships.
- CSU has won six-straight regular-season conference titles, something that has never been accomplished by a MW team. CSU had previously won five in a row from 2000-04.
- With the conference championship, CSU earned the MW’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. It will mark CSU’s 20th-straight NCAA tournament appearance, a streak which ranked seventh nationally entering the season.
- CSU’s .933 winning percentage (28-2) ranks third in the NCAA this season. If the season were to end today, it would tie a program record (also 28-2 in 2013).
- With the victory, CSU improved to 29-1 in true road matches since Oct. 27, 2012. The Rams set a program record and held the NCAA’s longest streak with 27-straight true road wins until their Nov. 1 loss at UNLV.
- CSU has won five matches in a row. On the year, CSU holds winning streaks of five, 18 and now five again.
- CSU has won 22 matches in straight sets, which ranks third in program history. CSU swept 23 matches in 2001 and 24 in 2000.
- Senior middle blocker Kelsey Snider led all players with 13 kills on .619 hitting. She did not make an error in the match (13-0-21), the fifth time this season she has not recorded an error. She also added a team-high-tying four blocks.
- Senior Marlee Reynolds and freshman Jasmine Hanna also had 10 kills, while junior Adrianna Culbert had eight.
- Senior Deedra Foss had 45 assists, a personal best for a three-set match. She also added an ace and a team-high-tying four blocks.
- Culbert and junior libero Jaime Colaizzi were in double figures for digs with 10 and 11, respectively.
- The Rams out-hit Nevada .350 to .206. CSU has hit at least .323 in all five matches since Nevada joined the MW in 2012.
- CSU’s 32 points scored in Set 1 were the most during the 25-point scoring era (since 2008). The last time CSU had 32 points in a set came against Denver, on Oct. 30, 2007, when sets went to 30.
- Hanna was limited to one kill on -.167 hitting (1-4-18) in Wednesday’s win over San José State. The freshman had seven on .357 hitting (7-2-14) in the first set alone on Saturday.
- CSU jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the opening set, and led 23-20 before Nevada staked a comeback. The Wolf Pack scored the next four points to hold its first of three set point opportunities. Each time, however, CSU tied the score with a kill.
- The Rams held five set point opportunities of their own before finally taking a multi-point lead on a Nevada attack error and a Reynolds kill.
- Reynolds finished the set with eight kills on .312 hitting (8-3-16), while setter Foss dished out 24 assists. CSU hit .380 with 26 kills.
- CSU has won the opening set in 22-consecutive matches dating back to September. The Rams have won the first frame in 28 of 30 matches on the season. The only times they haven’t were against Wisconsin and BYU.
- CSU led from start to finish in the second set, out-hitting Nevada, .304 to .156. Snider had five kills on six swings. The two teams were tied at five points, last at 12-12, before CSU used a 5-0 run to separate.
- The Rams never trailed in Set 3 either, jumping out to a 3-0 lead. Following the only tie of the set – at 3-3 – CSU went on a 4-0 run, which extended into 10-2, giving the visitors a 13-5 advantage.
- Snider returned to the lineup after missing Wednesday’s match with concussion-like symptoms.
