CSU names Jack Rowdy Garrett assistant women's golf coach

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State head women’s golf coach Annie Young completed her 2014 coaching staff on Monday, naming Jack Rowdy Garrett as the Rams’ newest assistant coach.
“I was very excited when Coach Annie Young offered me the job,” Garrett said. “It is an absolute blessing. I’m thrilled to be coaching at a nationally known program like Colorado State.”
Garrett, 22, was a four-year letter winner at Arkansas Tech from 2010-14. The native of, Fouke, Ark., played in 91 rounds for the Wonder Boys, averaging 74.4 strokes per round. He recorded 11 top-10 finishes in his four years, and twice finished in the top-15 of the NCAA Central/Midwest Super Regional.
Garrett’s success in the collegiate level will prove to be a valuable addition to the team. He finished his sophomore year as the 2012 Great American Conference Player of the Year, and was a two-time first-team Great American Conference honoree.
As a team, with Garrett’s leadership, the Wonder Boys were 2013 Great American Conference champions and runners-up in 2012.
“I am excited to have Rowdy join our coaching staff,” Young said. “His knowledge of the game along with his success as a collegiate golfer will be an asset to our team. I look forward to working with him.”
Garrett, a native of Fouke, Ark., graduated with a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Arkansas Tech.
CSU is coming off one of its most successful seasons in recent history. Under first year coach Young, the Rams registered six top-10 team victories, the third-most dating back to 2003-04.
