  • With a three-set victory over Marquette, CSU won the Rams Volleyball Classic.
  • The Rams swept all three opponents this weekend. This marks the fourth-consecutive year – but just the sixth time in program history – that CSU has opened a season with nine-straight set victories.
  • Rams Volleyball Classic all-tournament team: VCU’s Cecilia Aragao, Marquette’s Meghan Niemann and Lindsey Gosh, and Colorado State’s Jaime Colaizzi, Deedra Foss and Kelsey Snider (MVP).
  • Colorado State has now won seven-consecutive home tournaments, dating back to 2009. All-time under Head Coach Tom Hilbert, CSU is 72-13 in regular-season home tournaments.
  • Sunday marked the Rams’ second-consecutive match against a 2013 NCAA tournament participant. Marquette won the BIG EAST regular-season and tournament titles last year, and finished the season with an RPI of 11. The Golden Eagles are currently receiving top-25 votes in the AVCA Preseason Division I Coach’s Top 25 Poll.
  • For the second-straight match, CSU’s starters were: Acacia Andrews, Adrianna Culbert, Cassidy Denny, Deedra Foss, Jasmine Hanna, Kelsey Snider and Jaime Colaizzi.
  • Senior outside hitter Marlee Reynolds led all players with nine kills on .389 hitting (9-2-18), marking the second time this season she has led CSU in that category. Last year, she led CSU in kills 16 times.
  • CSU used its defense to propel itself to the Rams Volleyball Classic title. As a team, CSU out-blocked Marquette, 9.0-4.0 The Rams out-blocked their opponents, 31.0-12.0, over the three-match tournament, averaging 3.44 blocks per set over nine sets. CSU ranked 13th nationally in 2013 with 2.84 blocks per set.
  • Just as effective as the Rams were at the net, they were equally effective in the back row digging up balls. CSU limited its three opponents to a combined .100 hitting percentage (90-61-290). In comparison, the Rams hit .310.
  • Senior middle blocker Kelsey Snider led CSU with five blocks vs. Marquette. Through three matches, she is averaging 1.56 blocks per set
  • Marquette’s Autumn Bailey, who was voted as the BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year, was held in check, registering eight errors and a -.030 hitting percentage.
  • Dating back to 2012, CSU has won 14-straight regular-season non-conference matches. CSU’s last home loss to a non-conference opponent was No. 2 UCLA (9/15/14), in five sets.
  • CSU improved to 10-0 all-time at Moby Arena on Aug. 31.
  • Since 2011, the Rams are 43-3 at Moby Arena. Only Texas, Florida State and Penn State have a better home winning percentage during that span.
