FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Golfer Jessica Sloot signed her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, during the first day of the early signing period. She will join the Colorado State women's golf team for the 2016-17 season.

Sloot, a native of Fruit Heights, Utah, is the defending 5A state champion. After finishing runner-up as a freshman and fourth as a sophomore, Sloot won the individual title last spring, and looks to defend her crown this May.

In addition to her individual accomplishments, Sloot has led Davis High School to back-to-back state titles and three consecutive conference championships. The Darts were one stroke away from a three-peat at state, finishing second during Sloot's freshman campaign in 2013.

"She's pretty much dominated Utah, and she's a good player," head coach Annie Young said. "She's a really smart student as well. Jessica has played in a lot of national tournaments, which is what I'm looking for, and I'm excited to have her be part of our program."

Sloot is the daughter of Martin and Natalie Sloot. She has a younger sister, Alivia. Her high school coach was Lori Salvo.
