LUBBOCK, Texas - Colorado State had a solid start to its final tournament of the regular season on Friday, posting a 12-over 588 during the first two rounds of the Red Raider Invitational. Freshman Katrina Prendergast (1-under 143) and junior Elisabeth Rau (2-over 146) are both in line for top-20 finishes, with Prendergast currently tied for fifth place and Rau tied for 15th. The field includes 75 participants from 14 schools.

Rau was one of seven golfers to shoot under par in Round 1, sitting in a fourth-place tie through 18 holes. Prendergast was in 18th after shooting a 2-over 74, but carded a 3-under 69 in Round 2 to jump 13 spots and sit under par with one round to play. If standings hold, it would mark Prendergast's second top-five finish in a row. Rau began the year with three top-20 finishes in CSU's first four tournaments, but is in line for her best finish since early October.

CSU as a team was tied for fourth place through one round, trailing only Texas Tech, Purdue and BYU - all three schools are ranked in the top 50 nationally by GolfStat. The Rams dropped three spots in Round 2, despite shooting two strokes better than the opening round. Junior Brianna Becker is at 7-over 151, senior Mikayla Tatman dropped 11 strokes in Round 2 to finish at 13-over 157 and sophomore Sarah Archuleta carded a 14-over 158.
