CSU tennis announces 2016-17 schedule

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State tennis team announced its 2016-17 schedule on Tuesday, featuring four fall tournaments and seven home matches during the spring slate.
The first season under the leadership of head coach Jarod Camerota will begin Sept. 22-25 with an invitational hosted by the University of Colorado in Boulder. CSU’s three other fall tournaments will take place in Colorado Springs (Sept. 30-Oct. 2), Fort Collins (Oct. 21-23) and Las Vegas, Nev. (Nov. 11-13).
Like the fall, CSU’s spring season will also begin against the rival Buffaloes, with this meeting taking place in Fort Collins at the Fort Collins Country Club (Jan. 22). The Rams’ other home matches are against New Mexico State (Feb. 4), North Dakota (March 10), South Dakota (April 8), UIPUI (April 9), Air Force (April 14) and New Mexico (April 16). Home matches are played either indoors at the Fort Collins Country Club or outdoors at the University Tennis Complex. All matches are free.
The Rams will make early-spring trips to Riverside, Calif., Lincoln, Neb., Las Vegas, Nev., San Marcos, Texas, San Antonio, Texas, and Omaha, Neb. In conference play, CSU will play at UNLV, Boise State, Utah State and Wyoming. The 2017 Mountain West Tennis Championship will be held April 27-30 in Las Vegas.
The Rams return four players from its 2015-16 roster – sophomore Emily Kolbow and seniors Caroline Henderson, Madison Porter and Celine Voss. They also add four freshmen who were four-star recruits by TennisRecruiting.net.
