TUCSON, Ariz. -
Freshman Ellen Secor and sophomore Katrina Prendergast earned top-20 performances on Sunday, placing in 14th and 16th place, respectively, at the MountainView Collegiate Invitational. As a team, Colorado State played its best golf of the weekend on Sunday, shooting a 12-over 300 during Round 3. The Rams improved each round, finishing at 52-over 916 and in 12th place.

This marks the third time this season that at least two Rams have placed in the top 20 of a tournament, with each one featuring Prendergast and Secor. On Sunday, Secor carded an even-par 72 during the final round, one of 20 golfers in the field to shoot par or better. For the weekend, she recorded a 3-over 219, including a 1-under 71 during the opening round.

Prendergast was one stroke behind Secor, carding a 1-over 73 on the day and 4-over 220 for the weekend. She shot 73 twice and 74 once during the three-round tournament. She has finished in the top 20 for all three tournaments this spring.

Senior Brianna Becker performed well on Sunday, shooting a 4-over 76 and finishing the weekend at 21-over 237. Senior Elisabeth Rau was a couple spots behind Becker, carding a 24-over 240. Junior Sarah Archuleta had her best round of the weekend on Sunday, finishing at 33-over 249. Freshman Jessica Sloot competed as an individual, posting a 24-over 240, including a 5-over 77 during Round 3.

Arizona won the tournament by 21 strokes, carding a 14-under 850. New Mexico State placed second (7-over 871), followed by Houston (10-over 874), UNLV and Oklahoma (15-over 879), Missouri and Kansas State (24-over 888), Ole Miss (28-over 892), Central Arkansas (31-over 895), Middle Tennessee State (37-over 901), North Texas (43-over 907), CSU (52-over 916) and Redlands Community College (108-over 972).

After three tournaments in 14 days to begin the spring season, the Rams will finally get some much-needed rest. CSU will next compete in the Bryan National, in Browns Summit, N.C., March 31-April 2.
